Amphenol XGIGA's 100G QSFP28 10km Long Range (100GBASE-LR4) Single-Mode Optical Transceiver Module with Integrated Duplex LC Connector (OEM P/N: QXP29B4-10D-4) seamlessly integrates the transmit and receive paths of four 25.78125 Gbps rated data channels via a universal SFF-8636 MSA compliant QSFP28 pluggable interface for compatibility with 100-Gigabit Ethernet capable QSFP28 switch, server and NIC ports.

The laser drivers control four Distributed Feedback (DFB) lasers with center wavelengths of 1296 nm, 1300nm,1305nm and 1309 nm. The 4x25G optical signals are multiplexed to a single 100G channel over single–mode fiber using an industrystandard duplex LC connector.  The convenience of using more affordable duplex OS1 single-mode fiber with the easy to terminate dual-LC connector is a superior option to using costly 8-fiber OM3/OM4 multimode fiber with MTP/MPO connectors. 

On the receive side, the single 100G data stream is optically demultiplexed by the integrated optical de-multiplexer back into the original native 4x25G optical data streams. Each data stream is recovered by a PIN photo-detectorand trans-impedance amplifier, fully retimed with digital re-timer circuitry. This produces perfect "lossless" signal integrity on the receive-end, despite massive transmit travel distances of up to 10-kilometers (6.2 miles)!

These exceptional 100G QSFP28-LR optical transceiver modules are precision-built in Amphenol's premiere optics lab in Taiwan and strenuously tested for long-term reliability and exceptional performance. Featuring a hot-pluggable electrical interface design, lowpower consumption (< 4.5W) and a 2-wire serial interface.  Form factor, optical/electrical connection and digital diagnostic interface is fully-compliant to QSFP28 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3ba standards.
