Amphenol XGIGA's XP-85B1-02D Series 25G SFP28 100m Short Range (25GBASE-SR) Multimode Optical Transceiver Module with Duplex LC Connector seamlessly integrates the transmit and receive paths of a single 25.0 Gbps rated data channel via a universal coded SFF-8472 MSA compliant SFP28 pluggable interface for maximum compatibility with your 25-Gigabit Ethernet rated SFP28 switch, server and NIC ports. The integrated laser driver with limiting amplifier operates at a center wavelength of 850 nm, transmitting data at signal rates of up to 26.50 Gigabits-per-second.  The single channel SFP28 compliant interface transmits over multimode (50/125) rated fiber optic cabling using the popular duplex LC connector style.  The rated transmission distance using OM3 MMF is approximately 70-meters and the distance using OM4 MMF is approximately 100-meters (330-feet). 

The transceiver's highly efficient VCSEL style laser driver relies on LED diode laser technology, which operate using far less power than traditional laser drivers and produce far less heat, allowing for a Thermal Design Power (TDP) rating of less than 1.0 watts.  They operate on a safer visible wavelength spectrum to minimize the risk of accidental eye damage when handling laser excited patch cords.   On the receive side, the single 25G data stream is recovered by a reliable PIN photo-detector.
