Amphenol XGIGA's 100G QSFP28 100m (330ft) Short Range (100GBASE-SR4) Multimode Optical Transceiver Module with Integrated MTP/MPO Connector (OEM P/N: QXP-85B4-02D) seamlessly integrates the transmit and receive paths of four 28.05 Gbps (max) rated data channels via a universal SFF-8636 MSA compliant QSFP28 pluggable interface for compatibility with 100-Gigabit Ethernet capable QSFP28 switch, server and NIC ports.
The optical transmitter portion of the 100G QSFP28-SR transceiver incorporates a 4-channel VCSEL (VerticalCavity Surface Emitting Laser) array, a 4-channel input buffer and laser driver, diagnostic monitors,control and bias blocks. The transceiver is fed using its integrated standard 12-lane MTP/MPO connectors, which can accommodate either 12-lane OM3/OM4 multimode fiber, or 8 lane fiber using only 8 of the 12 MTP/MPO connector pins.
The optical receiver portion of the transceiver incorporates a 4-channel PIN photodiode array, a4-channel TIA array, a 4 channel output buffer, diagnostic monitors, and control and bias blocks.Diagnostic monitors for optical input power are implemented and results are available through the TWSinterface. The ultra-efficient VCSEL laser drivers operate at a median multimode optical wavelength of 850nm, as per industry standards, supporting 70m (OM3) and 100m (OM4) link lengths.
These exceptional 100G QSFP28-SR optical transceiver modules are precision-built in Amphenol's premiere optics lab in Taiwan and strenuously tested for long-term reliability and exceptional performance. Featuring a hot-pluggable electrical interface, exceptional power consumption (< 2.0W) and a 2-wire serial interface. Form factor, optical/electrical connection and digital diagnostic interface is fully-compliant to QSFP28 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3ba standards.
