Amphenol XGIGA’s XP-85B1-02D-5 series 32G Fibre Channel (32GFC) SFP28 Multimode Short-Wave (SFP-FC32G-SW) Optical Transceiver Module supports serial line data rates up to 28.05 Gbps over multi-mode fiber (OM3/OM4).  Our Small Form Factor Pluggable SFP28 transceivers are compatible with the SFF-8472 and SFF-8431 SFP28 Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA) specifications and encoded for maximum compatibility with the market's leading 32G FC capable SFP28 switch, server, disk array or host adapter card ports.  Enjoy low latency and low power consumption (<1W) in Fibre Channel Storage Attached Network (SAN) and datacenter applications.  

The transceiver consists of five sections: the LD driver, the limiting amplifier, the digital diagnostic monitor, the VCSEL efficient LED-based laser diode and the PIN photo-detector. The 850nm multimode SFP28 32G (28.05G) fibre channel optical transceiver module drives links up to 100-meters (330-feet) using 50/125um multi-mode fiber such as OM3 and OM4 using the popular duplex LC connector style with UPC polished ceramic ferrules, providing reduced connector attenuation losses.  Note that these modules are specifically designed for 32G FC SFP28 applications and NOT 25G Ethernet (25GBASE-SR) SFP28 applications. 

Engineered and manufactured in Amphenol XGIGA's Taiwan-based premiere digital optics laboratory to meet the strictest FC-PI-6 guidelines to test transmitter and receiver compliance, jitter, and eye-diagram margins.  FC-PI-6 is the INCITS Fibre Channel Physical Interfaces - 6 standard (INCITS 512-2015) that defines the physical, optical, and electrical specifications for high-speed Fibre Channel storage networking. The 100% hot pluggable design offers both exceptionally low bit error rate (BER) and power dissipation (< 1W) characteristics.  Enjoy effective net data throughput of 3,200 Megabytes-per-second (MB/s).

The optical output can be disabled by a TTL logic high-level input of Tx Disable, and the system also can disable the module via I2C. Tx Fault is provided to indicate that degradation of the laser. Loss of signal (LOS) output is provided to indicate the loss of an input optical signal of receiver or the link status with partner. The system can also get the LOS (or Link)/Disable/Fault information via I2C register access.  Our 32-Gigabit/s Fibre Channel transceiver modules will also auto-negotiate at lower speeds, offering backwards compatibility with older generation 8G and 16G FC capable SFP/SFP+ ports on switches, servers, drives and NIC adapters.
