Amphenol XGIGA's 25G SFP28 10km Long Range (25GBASE-LR) Single-Mode Optical Transceiver Module with Integrated Duplex LC Connector (OEM P/N: XP-13B1-10D) seamlessly integrates the transmit and receive paths of a single 25.0 Gbps rated data channel via a universal SFF-8472 MSA compliant SFP28 pluggable interface for compatibility with all 25-Gigabit Ethernet rated SFP28 switch, server and NIC ports.

The integrated laser driver with limiting amplifier operates at a center wavelength of 1310 nm, transmitting data at signal rates up to 26.50 Gigabits-per-second.  The single channel SFP28 compliant interface transmits over single–mode (9/125) OS1 or OS2 rated fiber optic cabling using the popular duplex LC connector style. 

On the receive side, the single 25G data stream is recovered by a PIN photo-detector and trans-impedance amplifier, fully retimed with digital re-timer circuitry. This produces perfect "lossless" signal integrity on the receive-end, despite massive transmit travel distances of up to 10-kilometers (6.2 miles)! 

Despite its LR (Long-Range) designation, the equalization of prices between single-mode and multimode fiber hardware make these work perfectly at shorter distances too (i.e. 1m-300m link lengths) with little to no price difference. The added benefit of single-mode fiber is that unlike multimode fiber's 25G per lane link speed limit, single-mode transceivers are now supporting up to 100G per lane link speeds!  Upgrading to SFP56 or SFP112 transceivers in the future will be possible without having to run new fiber.

These exceptional 25G SFP28-LR optical transceiver modules are precision-built in Amphenol's premiere optics lab in Taiwan and strenuously tested for long-term reliability and exceptional performance. Featuring a hot-pluggable electrical interface design, low power consumption (< 1.2 W) and a 2-wire serial interface.  Form factor, optical/electrical connection and digital diagnostic interface is fully-compliant to SFP28 MSA standards.
