SMA to BNC Cables (Coaxial Cable with BNC to SMA Connectors)
Shop SMA to BNC Cables (Coaxial Cable with BNC to SMA Connectors) at Amphenol Cables on Demand. The BNC RF Connector was invented by Amphenol Bendix during WW2 to enable rapid equipment deployment and readiness, thanks to its simple “quarter-turn” bayonet-locking mating scheme. Since that time, Amphenol's BNC Cable and Connector platform cemented itself as the most popular and versatile RF interconnect ever invented, thanks to its low cost and availability in both 50-Ohm BNC and 75-Ohm BNC connector formats.
The SMA RF Connector is frequently found on devices where a smaller connector profile is required due to space constraints and the bulky BNC just won't fit. It is also popular in environments with high-vibration, such as aircraft and automotive applications, as its threaded coupling mechanism can be locked tight. Under other circumstances, SMA connectors are frequently used interchangeably with BNC’s and are thus found on radio receivers, transmitters, amplifiers, antennas, RF test and instrumentation, GPS navigation, avionics, spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
Amphenol’s line-up of SMA to BNC Coaxial Cable Assemblies are available with several 50-Ohm coaxial cabling options, including RG-58C/U and RG174/U. Our SMA-BNC cables always feature pre-installed impedance-matched 50-Ohm BNC and 50-Ohm SMA RF Connector “plugs”. Impedance-matching is essential to minimize adverse VSWR-induced signal reflections, which can lead to unnecessary signal losses up to 11 percent.
